Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and physician, Dr. Marlene Perez Dominguez (Hicks) a native of San Pablo, California, died unexpectedly at the age of 33 in Houston, Texas.
Her baby boy, Alexander Jerome Hicks Jr. entered into rest the following day.
She is survived by her loving husband, Alexander J. Hicks; daughters, Alyssa and Alana Hicks; parents, Cristobal and Victorina Dominguez; brother Maurice (Claudia) Dominguez and numerous uncles, aunties, cousins, friends and colleagues.

Dr. Dominguez was a graduate of St. Mary’s College High School, Stanford University, Meharry Medical College School of Medicine and Grand Rapids Medical Education Partners (in association with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine).

Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

My prayers go out to the family. I pray for Alex and his little girls during this difficult time. I loved Marelene so much, we went to elementary school together we share many memories and experiences together. Marlene was such an amazing person and built such a great life for herself. I am shocked and saddened by her passing, you will always be remembered my friend.

I did not have the opportunity to get to know Dr. Dominguez very well since she just started working with us here at UT Health. But it obvious she was very loved by many and touched the lives of many. My prayers and sympathy to you and your family during this difficult time of loss. "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Psalm 34:18

I first heard of you Marlene when you and Alex started dating. I later found out you and Alex were expecting a child and then getting married. I finally met you at one of our Thanksgiving gatherings and I knew immediately you were Hicks. I saw you again last November at another family gathering for Thanksgiving but this time I had the pleasure of having you, Alex and the children over my house. You and I were finally able to spend a little time conversing about family, jobs, and a few other things. I'm so glad I got to spend a little time getting to know you. RIP sweet angel!

May the love of family and friends give you strength as the "hearer of prayer" embraces your hearts. Lean on one another as the days ahead become difficult to bear alone. Share your memories they will be a source of comfort that can help your family cope and grant them peace.
