I knew Jack and Lotta Vevoda when we lived in El Cerrito. I had just gotten married and we resided next door to each other. Lotta's mom made all the girl's clothing and there was such a family cohesiveness that I admired. Once, we drove to Rio Dell with them for the weekend and a hunting expedition. I remember Jack had to have complete silence in the car. That was so strange to me. They traveled there at least one or two times a month. Lotta always had a smile on her face and always so accommodating. We lived there for six years before moving into a new home. Another time, I saw her at Costco with her oldest daughter. She hadn't changed at all. Her German roots definitely established guidelines in her children to all succeed in life. She was a wonderful person I always admired. God bless her soul. She lived a well-deserved long life.

To: The Vevoda Family, I am praying for all of your family members during this difficult time. Lotta Vevoda was a special person in life and the foundation of the Vevoda family. She lead by example and raised four great children that will always live in her likeness. I often think of my high school years and the great times we had in El Cerrito and Rio Dell with the Vevoda's. She was like a mother to many people in life and had a heart of gold. May she rest in peace and will always be remembered for the person she was and the way she treated people in her life.
