My deepest condolences to the Family and Friends of Leta,
I worked with Leta for a number of years in the California Department of Public Health and she was always great to work with. Leta was an early member of the California Food Emergency Response Team also known as CalFERT. CalFERT was a partnership of state and federal agencies to rapidly investigate foodborne outbreak investigations that brought field and laboratory staff together to work as one team. This allowed us to work more efficiently, improve communications and foster a team environment. This collaboration was so successful that it became a national model for other states.
Rest in Peace Leta.
