I've know Leonard most of my life. When he started dating my sister, Kathy, I knew he was the best. The Forfang family was very quiet & reserved. The Mitchell family was a large family & full of noise. The first time he came to dinner everyone was excieted. When he arrived he was called by the wrong name. When we all sat down to eat the table was crowed & he was told, "Hold onto your silverware when grace is being said. Because when we're through, everyone starts to eat & they might grab yours silverware instead of their own. Then who knows where your fork is." After that crazy noisy meal, Leonard still dated Kathy & I knew this was a relationship that would make it. He was such a great man & I will truly miss him. He will be remembered at all our family's big get togethers.

I couldn't have asked for a more wonderful brother & friend. He was a rock of support to everyone around him. I will miss him more than I can say!

To Donna, I remember you from living across the street in Rollingwood. I had two little boys who now have grandchildren. Your parents were so kind when we moved in and was sad to see them move. Rosemary Hulen

I remember fondly your family visiting us in Bayport. The time spent on the river on the pontoon with Leonard , Dennis and Donna having a great time. If I remember correctly it was always a challenge to see how fast the trip from California to Minnesota would be this year, especially when the kids started to help drive. I couldn't believe anyone driving that far straight through. The Forfangs welcomed me back from Viet Nam and Leonard and Dennis driving me back and forth to Treasure Isand while I was waiting for my discharge from the Navy. I am sure they had other things they would have rather been doing, but never a complaint. A very gracious welcome home. I feel so bad for you having to beare losing your mom and brother so close together. Sure gives us a wake up call for our own mortality. Chuck Lander

I never met you, Mr. Forfang. But I know your children. And knowing them, I can tell without a doubt that you were a good man. The world is a better place because you were in it and the values and principles you passed on to your children will follow on through countless generations. You made the world better. Thank you. Maggie Carey
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

All of Leonard's and Lenore's family, I am another of the Minnesota Forfangs. Leonard and I were/are almost the same age, we were both in the first crop of "baby boomers". I remember him primarily from the times your family came to MN for visits. They were always fun. I also remember Lenore as a sweet, warm and kind woman who sometimes came up with funny comments. When we got older, I was fortunate to be able to visit with Leonard and Kathy when they came to visit Gordon and Mary Forfang and family; and when Len "officiated" @ Don & Sylvia's internment. Len was a gentleman and I don't use that word often. He treated others with consideration and gentleness. He is and will be missed. I am so sorry for your losses. Two so close together is traumatic. Be kind and patient with yourselves in your grief. Love and God bless, Cheri Forfang

I remember you Rosemary! It has been a few years hasn't it! What you may not know is that my Mom passed away about 2 weeks after Leonard did. It was no way to end a year! It was so nice to hear from you!

I knew Leonarrd as a kind compassionate 18 year old who came to the Forfang farm in 1963 to help a grieving family. That was a bad summer for many of us. His warm personality and help will be my memory of this wonderful man. My heart goes out to all the California Forfangs (that's is what my dad,Ferdie, named you all so many years ago. He adored Leonard. My sympathy for the loss of Lenore. . My parents knew her much better than I did and loved her very much. u hi You have been through so much in a such a short time. Be well.
