Leonard Forfang, 70
Leonard Floyd Forfang, 70, of El Cerrito, CA, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, November 3rd 2016 at his home.
A celebration of life service will be held, Saturday December 3rd at Epworth United Methodist Church, 1953 Hopkins St, Berkeley, CA 94707. The Service will begin at 2:00pm. The Service will be followed by a reception at the Church. Memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
Leonard was born July 3rd 1946 in Hallock, MN to Floyd and Lenore Forfang. As a child and an adult he was involved with the Boy Scouts of America and he was an Eagle Scout. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1964 and attended the University of California, Berkeley. On April 2nd 1965 he married Kathleen Mitchell in San Pablo, who passed away in 2007. Leonard retired from PG&E where he was employed as a Systems Analyst and spent most of his career at their San Francisco headquarters. He married Mary Jordan December 31st 2010 in El Cerrito, He was a past member of Hope Lutheran Church in El Sobrante and a current member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Berkeley. He enjoyed working on carpentry projects and making furniture, rooting for the CAL Bears, singing in the Church Choir and spending time with his family.
Leonard is survived by his loving wife Mary Jordan Forfang, his son Derek Forfang and his daughter Christine Forfang Hoglund and her husband Mitch, his grandchildren Zachary, William, and Elizabeth Forfang and Andrew and Alexander Hoglund, his great grandchildren Tyler, Logan and Jason Forfang, his brother Dennis Forfang and his wife Anita, and sister Donna Baker and her husband Danny. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He is deeply missed.
