Kenneth “Ken” Young, a cherished longtime resident of Sacramento, California, passed
away peacefully on December 23, 2024, at the age of 80.

Born on March 31, 1944, in Berkeley, California, to Dock and Ah Lon Young, Ken lived a
life filled with passion and joy. His love for food, wine, and travel was evident to all who
knew him. An avid traveler, Ken explored Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean, often
aboard his favorite mode of transportation—a cruise ship. At home, he delighted in
golfing, bowling, working on cars, hunting, and shooting. A superb cook with roots in his
family’s business at Young’s Restaurant during his youth, Ken was renowned for his
culinary talents. His family fondly joked that his home was the best restaurant in
Sacramento.

Ken dedicated over three decades of service to the California State Department of
General Services in the Cashiers Office before retiring in 2003. Known for his fun-loving
demeanor and generosity toward his family, Ken left an indelible mark on those
fortunate enough to share in his company.

He is survived by his beloved wife of more than 22 years, Stella; daughters Sandy
Booker and Michele Young; son-in-law Kurt Booker; and granddaughter Ashley Chin.
A funeral service will be held on December 30, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at Sunset View
Cemetery, located at 101 Colusa Avenue in El Cerrito, California. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to your favorite charity.

Ken's legacy of warmth and generosity will forever remain a source of comfort and
inspiration to those who knew him. May he be remembered with love and gratitude for
the joy he brought into so many lives.
