John Vincent Murray, passed away on December 12, 2016, in Albany, California, at the age of 61. He was born in Wayzata, Minnesota and lived most of his life in California. He was a devoted father to Thomas and Daniel and a loving husband to Mariela Moreno. He was predeceased by his parents, Joe and Marie, and his father-in-law, Vicente. He was the son-in-law of Angela, brother-in-law of Jo-Anne, Miguel, Juancho and godfather to Lou-Anne and Natalia, all of Venezuela. He was the beloved stepson of Hazel.
His nieces and nephews will miss his gentle presence. John loved reading all subjects and learning languages. He enjoyed music, travel, fishing and camping road-trips with his two sons to places like the Grand Canyon, Death Valley and Baja. He enjoyed learning subjects his children were learning. He took care of his mother Marie. John was compassionate and observant. He put everyone at ease and left them feeling better about themselves. He enjoyed motocross as a young adult and was a model train hobbyist with his children. He graduated from Cal in 1983 with a degree in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. He retired from Apple in 2015. He had a gentle but perceptive sense of humor and a profound love for his family.
All who knew John are grateful for the many ways he enriched our lives.
Memorial services will be held at the Hillside Club, at 2286 Cedar St., Berkeley, CA 94709, on January 22nd, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
