Passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 in Berkeley, after a long illness, at 93 years of age. A native of Nogales, Sonora, Mexico and 15-year resident of Berkeley (most recently Redwood Gardens), late of El Cerrito and Richmond, since the mid-1950s. Survived by her sons, Raymond (Sandy) of Orangevale, Leroy Jr. (Ingrid) of Roseburg, Oregon, Gene of Pollock Pines, Charles of Berkeley, and Robert of Gladstone, Oregon; niece, Rosemary of San Juan Bautista; nephew, Victor (Frances) of San Diego; 21 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Sr; daughter, Mavis; son, Terry; sisters, Frances and Delfina; and brother, Alfonso. Isabel was a loving mother, a devout Catholic, and generous to a fault; she will be missed by all who knew her.
Friends and acquaintances are cordially invited to attend funeral services Thursday, July 11 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Sunset View Mortuary, top of Fairmount Avenue, El Cerrito; Fr. Fernando Cortez officiating. Interment following, Sunset View Cemetery. Viewing Thursday from 10:00 a.m. in the mortuary. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
