Fedele Sciancalepore passed away peacefully in his home on December 16, 2013. Fedele was born on February 16, 1948 in Molfetta, Italy to Saverio Sciancalepore and Antonia Palombella.
He immigrated to San Francisco in his youth and became a US citizen in 1965. For over 40 years, he worked as a butcher – first at Petrini’s, then at his own business, “Fedele’s Meats”, followed by Mollie Stones. He enjoyed dancing, playing piano, cooking for his children, going to the opera and traveling.
Fedele is survived by his son Saverio and Jennifer of Concord; son Robert and Brooke of UT; daughter Giordana and Keith of WV; daughter Caterina and Alex of Richmond; daughter Susanna of Richmond; sisters Rosa and Tonia of Molfetta, Italy; grandchildren Ben, Anna, Joshua, David, Antonio, Vincenzo, Leonardo, Ethan and Xander; nieces and nephews Anna, Corrado, Saverio, John, Penny and James.
The viewing will take place from 11am-3pm on Saturday, December 21 at Sunset View Mortuary in El Cerrito, followed by the funeral service at 3 pm.
