Edna M (Welander) Rogers, of Albany, died peacefully on Oct. 3rd at 83. She was born in North Dakota to John and Selma Welander, the youngest of eight siblings.
At age eleven Edna and her parents moved to Albany, CA. She attended Albany schools and graduated from Albany High school in 1951, and immediately went to work in Oakland, CA for Pacific Bell Telephone Co. Her career started as a Clerk in the Accounting Dept. Thirty three years later she retired as the Supervisor of the Accounting Dept.
Edna met George Rogers as a teenager. He joined the Air Force serving overseas. On his return they started dating and married in 1955 and their beloved son Stanley was born.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by her loving son Stan, loved by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews that caller her “Nana”.
Predeceased by beloved husband George, parents, and seven siblings.
A Celebration Of Life Tribute will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 11:00 at The Sunset View Mortuary, 101 Colusa Ave., El Cerrito, CA with interment to follow at The Sunset View Cemetery. Officiating will be Reverend Cary Bass-Deschenes of the Lutheran Church Of The Cross. Contributions in her memory to your favorite charity.
