Don was a long time friend since I met him in 1994 while working for the University of California. He was manager of the UC Berkely storehouse. He was one of my favorite contacts in all the campuses. He was always cheerful, helpful, and kind. Even after I retired in 2006, he continued our friendship by calling me every month just to say hi, with cheerful chatter, and kept in touch. I even got to meet his sisters, Joyce and Rita, when we met for a wonderful lunch last month. We all had such a good time that we were looking forward to gettiing together again. He was a really wonderful person, a proud father and grandfather, brother of 3 sisters, and a great friend. He will be missed so much by everyone who knew him. With my deepest condolences to his family.
