“The Duke” as he was affectionately known was born Chester August Anderson. Chet was from Pinole, CA and passed away on January 1, 2013 at his home. He was born in Portland, ME and was raised by Ward and Helen Anderson. Chet lived most of his life in the Bay Area where he worked as a Bartender for more than 50 years. The last 20 years were spent serving customers with a smile at the Hotsy Totsy Club, where he made many lifelong friends. Chet was a creature of habit and rarely traveled far from home, unless it was to play golf or go to the Du Rose for dinner with family and friends. He and his wife Luann made an annual month long anniversary trip to Sedona, Arizona where he visited with old friends, golfed and relaxed.
Chet was an honest, hardworking, loyal man with a quick wit, and great sense of humor. He valued his relationships and touched those who had the privilege to know him. He will be missed and remembered by all.
Chet is survived by his wife Luann, his sister Carol Munoz, sons Steven Anderson (Kara) and Matthew Anderson (Jillian), daughters Stacy Carson and Kris Gray (Jim) and grandchildren Kacy, Shae and Colton. A remembrance will be held at the Hotsy Totsy Club in Albany, CA on January 19th from 4pm to 7pm. In lieu of flowers, Chet would have wanted any donations to be made to his wife, Luann Anderson, as she was the bouquet of his life
