Betty Stukey was born December 29, 1918 in Oakland, CA, and passed away at home on October 28, 2016. She was a long time resident of Richmond, CA since 1946. She was a great mom, raised two boys, John and Jim, and was a loving wife to Carl for 73 years until his passing in 2012. Earlier in life she worked with her mom, Ruby, as a hairdresser, married Carl, and became a gold star homemaker instilling great values in her family. She was a fashionable lady and very talented at keeping her home so beautiful for all of us. She was an artist and enjoyed dancing and needlework. She worked for the West Contra Costa County School District as an Audiometrist. She was a friendly and caring person with a great smile. She touched many lives and was liked by everyone. Betty and Carl were considered the original girlfriend and boyfriend. She is survived by her son James, daughter-in-law Linda, granddaughter Jennifer, son-in-law Luis and a pack of neighborhood kids she loved all so much. She will be sadly missed. Family services will be held on Thursday, November 10, 11:00 am at Sunset View Mausoleum at the top of Sunset View Cemetery, junction of Fairmount and Colusa Ave.’s in El Cerrito.
